Hedge Fund Journal: Credit Suisse partnerships boost Prime Services

Credit Suisse is experiencing unprecedented growth in its Prime Services group. Arun Neelamkavil, Vice President, Credit Suisse Prime Services in London says the group’s business model and use of partnerships – with clients as well as with technology providers – is facilitating the growth.
“Hedge fund managers, whether established or start-up, today face many pressing issues,” said Neelamkavil. “Launching effectively, diversifying risk, achieving transparency and control requires technology that can facilitate increasingly complex operations, compliance and more diverse trading requirements.”
Neelamkavil says the basis for Credit Suisse’s growth in client assets is the firm’s approach to partnering with investment firms to ensure that they are successful businesses. The Prime Services group has achieved this by providing the full suite of services from execution capabilities, financing, investor services and client service capabilities.
Long before it became fashionable, Credit Suisse’s core strategy has focused on delivering the right solutions to funds to enable them to operate in a multi-prime environment. To do this effectively, Credit Suisse has partnered with the top-tier service providers. It developed the multi-prime Advanced Prime platform, signing related partnerships with best-of-breed service providers, with Paladyne Systems as the backbone of the offering.
Advanced Prime has helped Credit Suisse’s Prime Services’ clients not only weather the recent markets storms but build assets under management. Its scalable operations and technology platform is capable of handling complex global, multi-strategy, multi-asset class investments with a flexible client-focused approach.
Advanced Prime enables startup hedge funds to launch with an industrial-strength solution, and provides established funds with specific platform upgrades. As an ASP offering, Paladyne can support the move by funds into new investment structures, including managed accounts, multi-strategies and multiple global sites.
